British Gymnastics coaching qualifications are approved by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and are designed to ensure safe and effective coaching at all levels.
COACHING QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE Level 1: Trampoline Coach (Assistant Coach in other B.G. disciplines)
There are five levels of coaching qualification:
Level 2: Club Coach
Level 3: Senior Club Coach
Level 4: High Performance Coach
Level 5: International Performance Coach
For Club Coach the minimum age to do the course is 17 but the certificate will not be
given until 18.
After Club Coach there is a minimum of one year gap between each coaching progression examination

Optional add-on modules are available to facilitate the
broader development of coaching opportunities. These include:
Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults
Child Friendly Club Management
Pre-school Gymnastics and Movement
Advanced Coaching of Children
Trampette Coaching
Double Mini Tramp Coaching (only available to Club Coach or above)
Advanced Floor & Vaulting
TEACHERS AWARDS
A number of awards specially designed to cater for the needs of teachers by meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum and enabling the running of school based clubs. (link to more information about Teachers' Awards)
COACHES IN SCHOOLS
British Gymnastics, working through their Education
Working Group, have developed a one-day course aimed at helping coaches who
are going into schools. It covers practically, the similarities and
differences between Educational Gymnastics and the sport of Gymnastics. It
deals with the National Curriculum and the place of Gymnastics, Planning and
Assessment, Health and Safety, Teaching and Learning styles and Approaching
a School. The course is aimed at giving coaches the information to build a
confident, productive and mutually beneficial link with the school.
